Chapter Philanthropy

Every semester, we choose two organizations within  mental health awareness to focus our philanthropic efforts. Previously these organizations have been the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), Mental Health America, and the JED Foundation.

You’ll find Delta Xi’s on campus throughout the semester selling hand-made grilled cheeses (KKGrill’em) to other students and passerby. Once a semester, the chapter will open its doors to students for Midnight Waffles, which features a waffle and toppings bar to those who are up late studying for finals. This year, Delta Xi will also host Kappa Kickball, a fast paced, team tournament on campus.

Members are also involved in service on and around campus. Whether volunteering in voter registration, Special Olympics or meal packaging for Rise Against Hunger, Kappas often look for opportunities to give back to the community.

Delta Xi also participates in CMU’s largest annual philanthropy event - Greek Sing! Alongside other organizations in the Carnegie Mellon Fraternity and Sorority Life community, the chapter raises money for Camp Kesem. Camp Kesem is a national non-profit organization that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer, organizing events like the weeklong summer camp experience that Greek Sing helps support.
