Chapter History
You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every chapter of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today. Read more about our chapters’ histories in Kappa's digital archives.
Founded on February 17, 1944 at Carnegie Mellon University, the Delta Xi chapter has now grown to 92 active members and hundreds of alumni. Through philanthropy and service, scholarship, and leadership, we believe that each sister of Delta Xi encompasses the values of sisterhood, friendship, and self-growth.
Along with Kappa, many of our sisters are actively involved on CMU's campus and in the Pittsburgh community at large.
At the 2016 Kappa National Convention in San Diego, California, Delta Xi was proud to accept the most improved academic excellence award. We also received the recruitment award at Kappa's National Convention in Houston, Texas in 2014.
