Mental Health and Well-Being
As Kappas, we’re always looking for opportunities to give back and improve the world around us.
This includes supporting one another when it comes to mental health and well-being within our own chapter — and beyond. Kappa is proud and honored to partner with and support the following established organizations that are working to effectively address these topics and needs with compassion, authenticity, and respect.
National Alliance on Mental Illness
Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation
The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation helps Kappas pursue life’s opportunities by funding impactful programs, including financial assistance grants, member education, preserving our history and heritage, and scholarships. Learn how the Kappa Foundation helps Kappas thrive.
Join us as we commit to becoming powerful advocates for mental health and well-being. Together, we can make an incredible impact.
Delta Xi Philanthropy
Every semester, we choose a mental health awareness organization on which to focus our philanthropic efforts. Previously, these organizations have included the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), Mental Health America, and the JED Foundation. You’ll find Delta Xi’s on campus throughout the semester selling handmade grilled cheeses (KKGrill’em) to other students and passersby. Twice a semester, the chapter opens its doors to students for Midnight Waffles, which features a waffle and toppings bar for those who are up late studying for finals. Members are also involved in service on and around campus. Whether volunteering for voter registration, Special Olympics, or packing meals for Rise Against Hunger, Kappas often look for opportunities to give back to the community. Delta Xi also participates in CMU’s largest annual philanthropy event - Greek Sing! Through ticket sales and fundraising events held alongside other chapters in the Carnegie Mellon Fraternity and Sorority Life community, we raise money for Cancer Bridges. Cancer Bridges is a nonprofit organization based in Pittsburgh that provides free emotional, social, and wellness support to individuals and families impacted by cancer.
